Course Syllabus

COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

This course contains an interactive Nearpod presentation which guides you through the Universal Design for Learning theory, concepts, and applications from ISTE: Inclusive Learning Network, and CAST. CAST is a nonprofit education research and development organization that created the Universal Design for Learning Framework and Guidelines.

YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE A LESSON PLAN FOR  A PAST OR PRESENT LESSON TO WORK WITH. IT CAN BE FOR ANY ACADEMIC SUBJECT. AT THE END OF THE COURSE, YOU WILL UPLOAD A "BEFORE AND AFTER" LESSON PLAN TO COMPLETE THE COURSE IN PLACE OF A QUIZ. INSTRUCTIONS ARE IN THE NEARPOD.

CONTACT HOURS: This is a 1.5 credit course, offered in Canvas. Since this is offered online at the participant’s own pace as opposed to an in-person 1.5 hour workshop, expect to spend at least 1.5-2 hours of time reading and viewing material, and interacting with the activities using critical thinking.

ATTENDANCE: Online courses have deadlines, assignments, and participation requirements. You may take breaks between assignments, however, once you begin the course, you will need to complete it in a reasonable amount of time. Because the course is on-demand and ends May 27, 2022, credit will be given when it closes. 

COURSE SCHEDULE: This course is open from 4-1-22 to 5-26-22.

If you sign up for the course and decide not to take it, or not to complete it, PLEASE remove yourself from the Performance Matters course. It takes quite a bit of time to cross reference PM, Canvas and the Nearpod to determine completion. Thanks!!
